The City of Gig Harbor welcomes the public to join us for the 2022 City of Gig Harbor Holiday Tree Lighting Event at Skansie Brothers Park on Saturday, December 3 from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM.
Mayor Tracie Markley and our guests from Joint Base Lewis McChord will be on hand to light the tree. Our long-standing partnership with the 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade has provided our holiday tree in past years and is once again the source of our grand 35-foot Douglas Fir!
The City will host Mark Hurwitz and Gin Creek playing holiday classics live at the Skansie Brothers Park Pavilion, while the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance serves complimentary hot cocoa at the Skansie Netshed. Harbor WildWatch will host a touch tank experience atop the Jerisich Dock pavilion, and local vendors will line Harborview Drive.
Making a return this year is Santa & Mrs. Claus at Santa's House on Jerisich Dock. A special thanks to the Peninsula High School Key Club, who will serve as elves! Complimentary Polaroid photos with Santa are available starting at 5:30 PM.
New for this year: on Saturday, December 3, the City will debut four holiday photo locations downtown, located at: the Skansie Visitors Center, Skansie Brothers Park Pavilion, Ancich Waterfront Park, and Bogue Viewing Platform. We encourage you to explore and enjoy downtown this holiday season!
Please note, Harborview Drive between Pioneer and Rosedale will be closed from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 3.
