2024 Skansie Park "SUMMER SOUNDS" Concerts

The City of Gig Harbor is pleased to announce the return of the much-loved summer series of concerts at Skansie Brothers Park for 2024. Set along the waterfront in the shadow of Mount Rainer, 10 concerts span a variety of music and film genres that are sure to appeal to all audiences.

New this year: 


Movies in the Park will be hosted at Sehmel Homestead Park through the month of July. Prior to each film screening, there will be activities, entertainment, and food that tie into the movie's theme, from 80s costume contests to meeting adoptable pets or puppet-making.

Both events, the Summer Sounds at Skansie Concert Series and Friday Night Movies in the Park are generously sponsored by Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, in addition to individual sponsors for

SUMMER SOUNDS AT SKANSIE

The City of Gig Harbor brings live music to our beautiful downtown waterfront outdoor concert venue. Guests can arrive by land or by boat to Skansie Brothers Park in downtown Gig Harbor from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evenings in the summer. Enjoy a free music festival featuring a variety of music genres, from classic rock to 1920s speakeasy sounds to country favorites.


2024 CONCERT SCHEDULE:

The lineup includes:

July 16: Wally & the Beaves, a seven-piece Pacific Northwest band playing hits from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Each member of the band dresses like an iconic character from the era.

July 23: Good Day Sunshine, a five-piece Seattle band that plays Beatles songs.

July 30: The ABBAgraphs, a Seattle-based band that covers songs by Sweden’s biggest musical export, from “Waterloo” to “Dancing Queen.”

Aug. 6: Victims of Love, an Eagles tribute band.

Aug. 13: Beadhead, a Portland-based band playing a tribute to Jimmy Buffet.

Aug. 20: Danny Vernon: Illusion of Elvis, who you may have guessed plays Presley songs.

Aug. 27: The Profits, Gig Harbor and Summer Sounds regulars who play “the music you forgot you loved.”

Chairs can be set up after 3 pm on the day of the event, in order to keep Skansie Brothers Park open for use during the day. Roping off seats and chairs/blankets on the Jerisich Dock Viewing Platform is not permitted. No tents or canopies are allowed, but small umbrellas can be used – we ask that all attendees please be respectful of their neighbors. All Gig Harbor parks are smoke, vape, and alcohol-free.
