Gig Harbor, WA - Get ready for a celebration of Spring and creativity at the Local Makers Spring Market &
Festival, which will take place on May 13 from 10am-3pm at the Gig Harbor Civic Center Green. Sponsored by
the City of Gig Harbor and many great local businesses, the event will feature over 50 Local Makers & Artisans,
as well as "Mini-Makers" (youth entrepreneur makers) showcasing their skills, local food and beverage vendors,
DIY creative and pampering workshops, aerial artist, face painters, balloon artists and much more.
"This event will be one of the highlights of the Spring season for residents and visitors alike" said Caasi Dickens
founder of Local Makers Gig Harbor, "we're coming together as a community to Ignite the Creative Spirit of Gig
Harbor. It will be a fantastic opportunity to discover unique, locally-made goods, support local artisans, and
have a great time with friends and family in a beautiful outdoor setting."
Attendees can explore the diverse array of handmade goods available including jewelry, pottery, skincare,
baked items and more. They can also enjoy live entertainment from local performers, participate in DIY
workshops to learn new skills and crafts (from flower-pressing to watercolor painting and more), munch on
delicious offerings from local food and beverage vendors and enjoy posing for photos in front of local-artisan
designed mural, commissioned especially for the event.
In addition to being a fun day out for all ages, the Local Makers Spring Market & Festival is also a great way to
celebrate Mother's Day. "We wanted to create an event that would be the perfect way for families to spend
quality time together on this special occasion weekend" said Clare Dunis, Local Makers member and co-
organizer of the event. "Whether you're looking for a unique gift for Mom, seeking inspiration for your own
