From picking apples to leaf-peeping to Halloween fun ... Macaroni KID Gig Harbor has all the details for you and your family to make the most of autumn in Gig Harbor.

Gig Harbor is known for being a quintessential sailing town, but it also has several parks and wooded areas boasting beautiful foliage as we head into fall. 

Sehmel Homestead Park

Details: 

Sehmel Homestead Park has 98 acres of fun for the whole family.  With 4 miles of well-maintained trails throughout the 76 acres of meadow, naturalistic pond, wetlands, and forest conservancy area, it’s a great location to spend some time admiring the various hues Autumn brings.  

When you’re done exploring the trails, you can enjoy the myriad of other conveniences offered in the other 22 acres of Sehmel Homestead Park. Multiple sports fields and courts, a Boundless Playground, picnic shelters, well-kept bathrooms, and more make this a great place to spend the day with your family.

Hours: 7 AM - 8 PM

Dogs must be leashed at all times while on Sehmel Park Property.

Harbor Family Park

Details: 

Harbor Family Park is often overlooked as it doesn’t have the grand entrance or abundance of services.  However, this 18.7 heavily-wooded acres of slender, primitive trails provide a peaceful environment to explore the beauty of nature and fall foliage.

Hours: 7 AM - 8 PM

Dogs must be leashed at all times while onHarbor Family Park property.

Rocky Creek Conservation Area

Details:  About 7 miles west of Purdy is a woodland treasure on the key peninsula.  Rocky Creek Conservation Area consists of over 224 acres of park, open space, and conservation land, including over 3 miles of walking trails.  In addition to vibrant fall foliage, a visitor will encounter Rocky Creek, Gee Creek, and wetlands to explore.
