In-Building Services Now Open at All Full-Service Libraries

We are thrilled to welcome you safely back inside library buildings for browsing and technology services. Please use self-checkout stations and limit your time in the buildings.

What’s open:

  • Find and check out books, movies, magazines, other materials
  • Free use of computers, printers, Wi-Fi
  • Free limited scanning, copying and faxing

What’s not open:

  • Study rooms, conference rooms, meeting rooms
  • In-person classes and events
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Friends book sales and donations.

Please call the library to get ideas for alternate donation places in your community.

Library Curbside

We’re very glad to offer Library Curbside service. 

  • Pick up held items.
  • Select a Grab Bag of library materials chosen just for you by staff.
  • Pick up copies of prints you send remotely.

All 19 full-service Pierce County Libraries are open with in-building services so people of all ages can browse bookshelves and find books and movies on their own.

Masks required in library buildings (5 and older). Following Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department’s directive and the State of Washington’s order, the Pierce County Library System requires the public and staff, regardless of vaccination, to wear masks to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Children ages 2-4 are strongly encouraged to wear a mask per the Department of Health

Also, per public health directives, masks are required outdoors where physical distancing isn’t possible.
