The Discovery Foundation is a not for profit organization, founded by parents and teachers, to bring educationally enriching activities to children in the Gig Harbor area. There was a real need for activities for younger children, and the area didn't have much to offer in the afternoon.
This year we began running daily classes at the Discovery Village campus and the program quickly became popular. The program allows parents to sign their child up on a day to day basis, which can be helpful when parents have an appointment or find themselves trapped at home with bored children. The classes help children gain social skills, independence and definitely spur creativity.
The current daily rotation includes American Sign Language, Cooking, Art, Spanish and STEM, we have plans to add an after-school program as well as some music and movement classes.
Each day is based around a central theme with cooperative play, free play and hands-on learning throughout the afternoon. The children also enjoy playground time and exclusive free play in the Discovery Village meadow & marketplace after public hours.

The Afternoon Enrichment Classes are intended for children ages 3-6.
Class runs from 1:00-4:30 at Discovery Village, children may be picked up at any time. Each day is based around a central theme with a lot of cooperative play, free play and hands-on learning throughout the afternoon. The children also enjoy an exclusive free play in Discovery Village's meadow and marketplace after it is closed to the public.
The cost is $20 per day; due to the popularity of the program, we recommend signing up ahead of time. Sign up HERE.
